About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform all project control functions including planning, tracking, analysis and reporting across the project life cycle
Support projects varying in size, complexity, and contract type, including Cost Reimbursable, Firm Fixed Price, and Time & Material
Interface with corporate staff, Executive staff, Directors, Program/Project Managers, Contracts, Billing, Finance, and Human Resources
Assist in project setup, workforce assignment, and adding new employees into Deltek CostPoint
Develop Estimates to Complete (ETCs) and Estimates at Completions (EACs)
Review current project financial status and project future performance with Project Managers
Monitor cost and schedule performance and perform related analyses
Produce weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly financial deliverables for internal and external use
Develop and review procedures, processes, and products to identify improvements, reduce costs, and reduce errors
Perform funding analysis, monthly expenditure analysis, cost variance analyses, historical financials, task spending and commitments tracking, burn-rate analysis, and future-trend forecasting
Monitor actual costs against budgets
Monitor and provide status on utilization and bonus tracking
Assist Project Managers with purchase requests
Validate subcontract invoices against purchase orders and track subcontract efforts including monthly reports
Enter subcontractor invoices into Costpoint
Assist Project Managers with Risk Authorization Requests (RARs), modification requests, and limitation-of-funds notifications
Monitor and help manage at-risk and suspense-related costs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Business Finance or a related field of study
Minimum 7 years of experience in project controls or planning
Strong knowledge of project control methodologies, cost engineering, and scheduling
Proficiency in Deltek CostPoint
Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
SharePoint (user)
Work experience with Jira
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work with little or no direct supervision
Excellent time management skills
Cost estimating and reporting
Risk and issue management
