About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide occupational therapy services to K-12 students in a virtual setting
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities
- Develop individualized treatment plans and goals with students, parents, and school staff
- Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions
- Monitor and document students' progress and adjust intervention plans as needed
- Consult with teachers and school staff on strategies supporting classroom participation and success
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support students' academic and functional needs
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to students' education plans
- Maintain accurate and timely therapy documentation, progress reports, and required paperwork
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
- Must hold valid state license as an Occupational Therapist in the state in which you live and practice
- Must be registered with the National Board Certification Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Passionate about working with K-12 students in a virtual setting
- Experience providing occupational therapy services in a school or pediatric setting
- Proficiency in assessment tools and therapeutic techniques commonly used in pediatric occupational therapy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Computer skills, including email and Microsoft Teams
- Experience in teletherapy
- Knowledge of sensory integration therapy, Handwriting Without Tears, and other therapeutic modalities (preferred)
- Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer keyboard and mouse
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to occasionally stand, walk, reach, and lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds
