About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' motor skills, sensory processing, and functional abilities
- Develop individualized treatment plans and goals with students, parents, and school staff
- Implement evidence-based occupational therapy interventions
- Monitor and document students' progress and adjust intervention plans as needed
- Provide consultation and support to teachers and school staff
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support students' academic and functional needs
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to students' education plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and required paperwork
- Provide occupational therapy services to K-12 students in a virtual setting
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or related field
- Must hold valid state license as an Occupational Therapist in the state in which you live in which you are practicing
- Must be Registered with the National Board Certification Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Passionate about working with K-12 students in a virtual setting
- Experience providing occupational therapy services in a school or pediatric setting
- Proficiency in assessment tools and therapeutic techniques commonly used in pediatric occupational therapy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Computer skills, including email and Microsoft Teams
- Experience in teletherapy
- Knowledge of sensory integration therapy, Handwriting Without Tears, and other therapeutic modalities (preferred)
- Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer keyboard and mouse
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Occasionally able to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds
