About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' speech, language, and communication abilities
- Develop individualized therapy plans and goals based on assessment results and students' needs
- Provide direct therapy services to K-12 students in articulation, phonology, language comprehension, fluency, and pragmatic skills
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and educational team members to support students' communication goals
- Incorporate evidence-based techniques and therapeutic activities into therapy sessions
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy plans as needed
- Document therapy sessions, progress reports, and other relevant information accurately and promptly
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on students' speech and language needs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Current ASHA certification required
- Passionate about working with K-12 students in a virtual setting
- Experience providing speech-language therapy services in a school or pediatric setting
- Proficiency in assessment tools and therapeutic techniques commonly used in pediatric speech-language pathology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Experience in teletherapy (preferred)
- Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems and other assistive technology used in speech-language therapy (preferred)
- Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer keyboard and mouse
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Occasionally able to stand, walk, reach, and lift or move objects weighing up to 20 pounds
