About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead U.S. environmental compliance programs while supporting select health, safety, EHS auditing, and Process Safety Management requirements
  • Serve as the environmental subject-matter expert for U.S. operations and represent Agropur in environmental forums, regulatory engagements, and external discussions
  • Represent Agropur on environmental committees and organizations
  • Provide feedback on priorities, NC Matrix, environmental compliance risks, non-compliance trends, and corrective action status to board and management
  • Participate in environmental stewardship and sustainability initiatives
  • Supervise dedicated or assigned resources, including the Environmental Manager and PSM Coordinator
  • Coordinate with site Safety Managers, site champions, and assigned resources
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the U.S. environmental management system
  • Ensure compliance across applicable sites, including permitting, reporting, inspections, and corrective actions
  • Support environmental compliance projects, technical initiatives, and emergency management preparedness
  • Lead or support projects involving emissions reduction, waste minimization, resource efficiency, carbon footprint, packaging optimization, and eco-friendly communications
  • Shape and supervise Agropur’s environmental file and evaluate resources required for technical projects and compliance initiatives
  • Support health and safety initiatives, including incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Lead and participate in EHS audits, including environmental compliance, OSHA safety, and PSM audits
  • Assist with integrating Process Safety Management into internal audits
  • Support OSHA PSM programs for ammonia refrigeration systems, including compliance audits, documentation review, training verifications, and corrective action tracking
  • Coordinate and share environmental best practices across U.S. facilities
  • Manage environmental consulting costs and support site and project budget planning
  • Prepare official environmental communications to regulatory agencies and internal communications to employees
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with federal, state, and local regulatory authorities
  • Manage activities of personnel engaged in shipping cheese and whey products to customers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience in environmental compliance or EHS roles within U.S. manufacturing or industrial environments required
  • Master’s Degree or certifications preferred
  • Knowledge of U.S. environmental laws and regulations
  • Experience with environmental compliance programs, permitting, reporting, inspections, and corrective actions
  • Experience with EHS auditing, OSHA safety audits, and Process Safety Management (PSM) audits
  • Experience supporting OSHA PSM programs for ammonia refrigeration systems
  • Ability to communicate environmental risks, requirements, and expectations at all levels of the organization
  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday
