About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create 2D or 3D computer-aided design drawings, including one lines, three lines, schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and detail drawings
  • Use engineering sketches, specifications, and supporting documents to design, detail, document, and verify electrical parts, subassemblies, assemblies, and system configurations
  • Prepare detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts, designs, and working drawings
  • Interpret verbal or written direction to initiate preliminary designs
  • Check and verify the accuracy of drawings prepared by others
  • Prepare bills of material and specifications when drawings are complete
  • Revise drawings and bills of material to reflect engineering changes
  • Implement revisions and change control according to company standards
  • Check field red-lined drawings and generate accurate as-built drawings
  • Track, receive, store, retrieve, copy, and scan project documents
  • Create project folders and submit project documents to clients
  • Communicate project information to the project design team
  • Support engineers and designers
  • Work under the direction of a Supervisor and report directly to the Engineering Manager or Supervisor
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5+ years of experience working in a consulting engineering firm or equivalent experience in a similar role
  • Proficient in ACAD, MicroStation and/or other similar software
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong understanding of timekeeping and working in a team environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Understanding of project workflows
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
  • Local candidates only

  • Associate degree or higher preferred but not required
  • Drafting/Design certification preferred but not required
