About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Utilize 2D or 3D Computer Aided Design software to create one-line, three-line, schematic, wiring, layout, and detail drawings
Use engineering sketches, specifications, and supporting documents to design, detail, document, and verify electrical parts, subassemblies, assemblies, and system configurations
Prepare detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts, designs, and working drawings
Interpret verbal or written direction to initiate preliminary designs
Check and verify the accuracy of drawings prepared by others
Prepare bills of material and specifications when drawings are complete
Revise drawings and bills of material consistent with engineering changes
Implement revisions and change control according to company standards
Check field red-lined drawings and generate accurate as-built drawings
Perform document management, including tracking, receiving, storing, retrieving, copying, and scanning project documents
Create project folders and submit project documents to clients
Communicate project information to the project design team
Support engineers and designers
Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of experience working in a consulting engineering firm or equivalent experience in a similar role
Proficient in ACAD, MicroStation, and/or similar software
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
Strong understanding of timekeeping and working in a team environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail
Understanding of project workflows
Basic written and verbal communication skills
Local candidates only
Ability to sit/stand for up to 8 hours per day
Ability to move freely for up to 8 hours per day
After accepting an offer, may be required to undergo background checks, drug testing, and/or fit-for-duty physical examination
Associate degree or higher preferred but not required
Drafting/Design certification preferred but not required
