About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as a subject matter expert in telecommunications engineering throughout the project lifecycle
- Oversee planning, execution and monitoring of engineering work
- Ensure engineering work meets quality, safety and performance standards
- Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders for integration and delivery across engineering disciplines
- Resolve complex technical issues and develop effective solutions
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and good practice
- Share technical knowledge and mentor other engineers
- Take responsibility for health and safety
- Apply a cost-conscious mindset to protect taxpayers’ money

Requirements
What you’ll need- Background in telecoms engineering on infrastructure projects, in areas such as civils, structures, station buildings, station systems, electrification or signalling
- Expertise in one or more engineering disciplines, with a deep understanding of technical principles and industry standards
- Ability to solve problems and develop innovative technical solutions
- Experience within the railway sector (desirable)
- Authority to Work in a relevant specialist discipline (desirable)
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience (desirable)
