About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Build features end to end across React Native / Expo screens on iOS, Android and web, Spring Boot API endpoints, and dependent integrations
Take work from refinement through code review and testing to production release
Participate in Scrum ceremonies including refinement, estimation, planning, review and retrospective
Integrate third-party platforms for trading, custody, identity verification, payments, notifications and market data
Implement retries, idempotency, webhook verification and clear application error states
Write unit and integration tests and support QA with mobile UI and API automation
Optimize app performance on older and lower-end devices and across screen sizes
Investigate and fix production issues using monitoring and error-tracking tools
Participate in the engineering support rota
Build securely with authentication, secrets handling and data privacy aligned with FCA and GDPR requirements
Use AI coding tools while reviewing, testing and explaining every AI-assisted change

Requirements

What you’ll need

At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience across front end and back end
Production experience with React Native and TypeScript; Expo is a plus
Production back-end experience in Java with Spring Boot, REST APIs and Maven
Solid SQL and relational database experience; PostgreSQL preferred
Production experience integrating third-party REST APIs and webhooks
Git-based workflow with pull-request reviews and CI/CD
Experience releasing mobile apps through the App Store and Google Play
Confident, practical use of AI-assisted development tools, with sound judgement over their output
Professional English for daily work
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Financial services, trading, brokerage or fintech experience is nice to have
AWS experience is nice to have
Real-time data, charting and caching experience is nice to have

Test automation tools such as Maestro, Detox or REST Assured are nice to have
4–7 years of hands-on software engineering experience
