About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead project execution for transmission and substation foundation scopes from preconstruction through completion
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and execution strategies
- Oversee foundations for transmission structures, substations, equipment, steel structures, and associated civil work
- Coordinate engineering, surveying, geotechnical requirements, material procurement, equipment, labor, and subcontractor activities
- Partner with field leadership to establish efficient construction methods, sequencing, and production plans
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers, including scope, performance, schedule, cost, and quality
- Monitor project performance and proactively address schedule, cost, resource, and technical risks
- Work closely with Engineering to resolve design issues, constructability concerns, RFIs, and field changes
- Coordinate with Procurement to ensure timely availability of concrete, reinforcing steel, anchor bolts, specialty materials, and other critical foundation components
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, utilities, engineers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
- Lead project meetings and provide clear reporting on cost, schedule, safety, quality, progress, and risks
- Manage change orders, project documentation, forecasting, and commercial issues
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with contract requirements, engineering specifications, safety standards, and MasTec policies
- Drive lessons learned, process improvements, and best practices across foundation projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, or related field preferred
- 8+ years of progressive project management experience in construction, with significant experience managing civil or foundation scopes
- Experience with transmission, substation, utility infrastructure, heavy civil, or large-scale foundation construction strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects with multiple crews, subcontractors, and stakeholders
- Strong understanding of concrete construction, reinforcing steel, anchor bolts, excavation, drilled foundations, spread footings, piers, piles, and related civil construction
- Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, contracts, change orders, and forecasts
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, productivity, and field execution
- Excellent communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel to project and field locations as required
- Experience managing foundation scopes across large-scale transmission line and substation projects
- Experience with drilled piers, micropiles, driven piles, spread footings, mat foundations, equipment foundations, and structural foundations
- Experience working with electric utilities, EPC contractors, or major infrastructure owners
- Experience managing projects with $50M+ total project values or significant multi-project portfolios
- OSHA, PMP, or other relevant construction/project management certifications
