About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work across shared platform foundations, including identity and access management, roles and permissions, tenant isolation, integrations and scalable platform architecture
Lead and mentor engineers while remaining close to the code
Own technical direction and define good engineering practices
Architect scalable, maintainable solutions for a multi-tenant SaaS environment
Collaborate with Product and Delivery to turn requirements into technical solutions
Provide realistic estimates and challenge optimistic estimates when needed
Unblock difficult or delayed projects and restore delivery momentum
Lead Agile ways of working and encourage continuous improvement
Establish best practices around architecture, testing and TDD
Use AI across the software development lifecycle, from design and build through testing and review
Explore AI coding agents to improve engineering productivity while establishing appropriate guardrails

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years’ software engineering experience
Strong hands-on experience with Node.js
Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript / JavaScript
Strong hands-on experience with React
Strong hands-on experience with SQL / NoSQL
Strong hands-on experience with CSS
Experience designing and building scalable, multi-tenant SaaS platforms
Experience with identity and access management, including SSO, OIDC, SAML, authentication and authorisation, roles and permissions, tenant isolation, and Keycloak
Technical depth combined with leadership ability
Eligible to work in the UK
Experience with AWS, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, Terraform, Playwright, .NET Core or C# is advantageous
Experience with AI IDEs, coding agents or AI-assisted software development is advantageous
