About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, and optimize high-assurance software components using C++
  • Participate in design and code reviews for new and existing systems
  • Provide constructive feedback and contribute to high-quality software
  • Improve coding practices, testing, and development tools
  • Support team testing efforts and collaborate with partner teams
  • Work with radar, signal processing, and software engineers to implement platform functionality for system control and signal processing needs
  • Own assigned software components and contribute to software development practices and continuous improvement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Experience designing and building embedded Linux-based software applications in C++
  • Embedded systems debugging, troubleshooting, and code-testing knowledge using debuggers, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or multi-meters
  • Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages for testing automation
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle and good coding practices
  • Experience with Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows, including pull requests, code reviews, branching, and merge conflict resolution
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across hardware and software teams
  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or equivalent military / industry experience
  • 3+ years of designing, implementing, integrating, and testing embedded software solutions in real-time operating environments
  • U.S. Citizen, green card holder, or person with asylum/refugee status in the U.S., or eligibility to handle export-controlled information or obtain required Government authorizations
  • Desired: Experience with secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC)
  • Desired: Experience building tailored Linux OSs using Yocto and Bitbake and administering a Linux environment
  • Desired: Familiarity with DevOps, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
  • Desired: Experience developing secure solutions for embedded electronic RF systems
  • Desired: Experience leading small technical efforts or mentoring junior engineers
  • Desired: Experience with UART, SPI, QSPI, I2C, or TCP/UDP IP
  • Desired: Proficiency in systems-level programming, memory management, and concurrency
