About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze and respond to incidents escalated by security analysts
- Determine the root cause, scope, and impact of security threats or events
- Use SIEM tools, EDR platforms, and threat intelligence to identify complex and persistent threats
- Correlate data from multiple sources to detect malicious patterns and anomalies
- Monitor threat intelligence feeds for emerging risks
- Coordinate incident response, including containment, eradication, and recovery
- Collaborate with IT, forensic, and Security Incident Response teams
- Enhance response playbooks, workflows, and standard operating procedures
- Improve detection rules, alerting mechanisms, and security tools
- Stay updated on emerging threats and vulnerabilities
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to security analysts
- Assist with analyst training and professional development
- Ensure incident handling complies with Ecobank policies, regulations, and industry standards
- Define playbook scenarios to automate responses to frequent incidents
- Take proactive action on intrusion detection and compliance deviations
- Report and communicate security findings to technical and non-technical audiences
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or Software Engineering
- Associate degree combined with relevant certifications and experience as an alternative education path
- Relevant certifications include CompTIA Security+, CEH, GSEC, CISSP, CISM, GCIH, or CySA+
- 5 years of cybersecurity, information security, or information technology experience, or equivalent role
- Incident handling, including investigation and resolution of malware infections, phishing, and unauthorized access
- Threat hunting using SIEM tools such as Splunk, QRadar, or Microsoft Sentinel
- Vulnerability assessments and remediation using Rapid7 or Qualys
- Advanced log analysis and anomaly detection from servers, endpoints, and network devices
- Strong knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, proxies, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection tools such as CrowdStrike or Carbon Black
- Experience with forensic tools and evidence collection techniques
- Automation and scripting skills in Python or PowerShell
- Threat intelligence integration
- Development and refinement of incident response playbooks
- Real-time monitoring of critical systems and environments
- Enforcement of security policies and procedures
- Mentoring and training cybersecurity analysts
- Collaboration with cross-functional teams
- Preparation of detailed reports and communication to technical and non-technical audiences
- Familiarity with NIST CSF, ISO 27001, GDPR, PCI-DSS, and HIPAA
- Ability to work 24/7 rotating shifts
