About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and support procurement of equipment for the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction team for 5–150 MW solar and storage projects
  • Serve as a central point of collaboration between development, engineering, and project management teams
  • Develop equipment supplier strategy and evaluate suppliers
  • Run and administer RFP processes
  • Analyze, negotiate, and contract for equipment, materials, and supplies
  • Manage procurement of PV modules, inverters, transformers, BESS systems, switchgear, and balance-of-plant materials
  • Coordinate with engineering, project management, and subject matter experts to identify long-lead items and initiate procurement
  • Track purchase orders from issuance through delivery and acceptance, escalating delivery risks
  • Maintain portfolio-level purchase order records by project, vendor, delivery date, and status
  • Collaborate with strategic procurement on platform-level vendor discussions and negotiations
  • Review nationwide raw goods pricing trends and advise on purchasing strategy
  • Collaborate with project management on supply shortages and material delays
  • Manage approved vendor lists and evaluate new vendors based on cost, quality, and lead time
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and warranty provisions; escalate non-standard terms to legal
  • Prepare and execute purchase orders and equipment supply agreements with the contracts manager
  • Track equipment costs against project budgets and flag scope changes or price escalation
  • Manage Procore tracking of equipment submittals, orders, logistics, and costs
  • Assure equipment cost aligns with project budgets
  • Report to the General Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of procurement, supply chain, or project controls experience in solar, energy storage, or construction
  • Four-year technical or business college degree preferred
  • Background in contract administration or legal coordination on equipment supply agreements preferred
  • Experience in distributed generation EPC preferred
  • Direct experience procuring PV modules, inverters, BESS, and transformers
  • Ability to manage competitive RFQ/RFP processes from solicitation through award
  • Familiarity with construction project delivery schedules
  • Proficiency with procurement and tracking in Procure preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to interface with EPC contractors, equipment vendors, logistics providers, and internal leadership
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods in an office environment
  • Ability to traverse construction project sites with varying terrain and weather conditions
