About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Strategic Procurement, Construction, Engineering, and O&M teams to analyze project designs, costs, and energy estimates
  • Challenge assumptions and methodologies to identify cost savings, mitigate risks, and improve project outcomes
  • Ensure estimation processes meet Development, Origination, Valuations, and Project Management expectations
  • Serve as primary contact for Portfolio Management, aligning pricing processes and project assumptions with strategic objectives
  • Define, govern, and continuously evolve estimation frameworks, assumption hierarchies, and risk quantification methodologies
  • Lead teams addressing project risks, including red-flag risks, and develop mitigation strategies
  • Answer project team and leadership questions about assumptions and changes
  • Align project analysis and estimate complexity with business decision needs, including Investment Approvals, Project Capitalization, and Final Investment Decisions
  • Understand customer needs and recommend improvements to project value and outcomes
  • Propose systemic workflow improvements, eliminate bottlenecks, and reduce internal labor costs through scalable solutions
  • Facilitate adoption and integration of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning in the estimation process
  • Advise EPCTS leadership with strategic insights and recommendations
  • Support the EPC Data Solutions Engineer with advanced analytics and data infrastructure
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in Engineering, Statistics, Project Management, or a closely related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in renewable energy project development, project management, or other practical renewable energy experience
  • Experience focused on high-profile projects valued at $250+ million
  • Proven ability to independently set methodologies, drive standards, and influence strategy across organizational boundaries
  • Experience with renewable project valuation, financial modeling, and/or risk analysis methodologies, including Monte Carlo simulations
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex datasets for project insights and data-informed decision-making
  • Experience leveraging Artificial Intelligence and machine learning
  • Hands-on data engineering, software development, or data architecture experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional technical and commercial teams
  • Proactive problem identification, prioritization, and solution proposal
  • Ability to add value without specific direction or guidance
  • Ability to communicate highly technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and provide accurate, timely updates
  • Proficiency in Python and its data ecosystem preferred: pandas, numpy, pydantic, fastapi, streamlit, asyncio
  • Proficiency in SQL optimization, NoSQL databases, and distributed database architectures preferred
  • Proficiency with AWS, GCP, or Azure preferred; professional certifications highly desired
  • Knowledge of DataOps, data quality frameworks, and metadata management preferred
  • Understanding of data security, privacy regulations, and compliance requirements
  • English/French: oral and written
  • Ability to sit or stand at a computer for a reasonable length of time and regularly walk or stand
  • Approximately 5% travel for conferences or internal meetings
