About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Strategic Procurement, Construction, Engineering, and O&M teams to analyze project designs, costs, and energy estimates
  • Challenge assumptions and methodologies to identify cost savings, mitigate risks, and improve project outcomes
  • Ensure estimating processes meet Development, Origination, Valuations, and Project Management expectations
  • Serve as primary contact for Portfolio Management and align pricing processes and project assumptions with strategic objectives
  • Define, govern, and evolve estimation frameworks, assumptions hierarchies, and risk quantification methodologies
  • Lead teams identifying project risks and developing mitigation strategies
  • Answer project team and leadership questions about assumptions and changes
  • Align project analysis and estimate complexity with investment approvals, project capitalization, and final investment decisions
  • Recommend improvements to project value and outcomes
  • Propose scalable, repeatable process improvements that eliminate bottlenecks and reduce labor costs
  • Facilitate adoption of AI and machine learning in the estimation process
  • Advise EPCTS leadership with strategic insights and recommendations
  • Support the EPC Data Solutions Engineer with advanced analytics and data infrastructure
  • Provide functional coverage and technical continuity for the Senior Data Solutions Engineer during absences or elevated workload
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or greater in Engineering, Statistics, Project Management, or a closely related field
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in renewable energy project development, project management, or practical renewable energy experience
  • Experience with high-profile projects valued at $250+ million
  • Experience with renewable project valuation, financial modeling, and/or risk analysis methodologies, including Monte Carlo simulations
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex datasets
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence and machine learning
  • Proven ability to set methodologies, drive standards, and influence strategy across organizational boundaries
  • Ability to work with cross-functional technical and commercial teams
  • Ability to communicate highly technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and provide accurate, timely updates
  • English/French oral and written proficiency
  • Preferred proficiency in Python and its data ecosystem: pandas, numpy, pydantic, fastapi, streamlit, asyncio
  • Preferred proficiency in SQL optimization, NoSQL databases, and distributed database architectures
  • Preferred proficiency with AWS, GCP, or Azure; professional certifications highly desired
  • Knowledge of DataOps, data quality frameworks, and metadata management
  • Understanding of data security, privacy regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to sit or stand at a computer, walk or stand regularly, and travel approximately 5% for conferences or internal meetings
