About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage strategic sourcing of goods and services for renewable energy generating assets and corporate requirements
  • Lead strategic buyers toward sourcing goals, savings targets, TCO reduction, and timely completion of sourcing events
  • Manage and mentor staff to support professional growth and development
  • Lead RFI, RFQ, and RFP processes from creation and issuance through award recommendations and contract negotiations
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast recurring needs and develop annual Procurement Plans
  • Establish supply and service contracts to cover recurring needs
  • Develop and manage commodity sourcing strategies based on supply market conditions, technology roadmaps, industry trends, and product/service forecasts
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships and evaluate supplier competencies and competitive positioning
  • Drive improvements and efficiencies, and create procedures, processes, and work instructions
  • Supervise 4–6 direct reports
  • Work within authorized budget constraints and follow fiscal responsibility policies
  • Visit vendor and internal customer sites and attend conferences and meetings as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, and Inventory Management
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team of at least 4 employees/direct reports
  • Experience in Renewable Energy highly preferred
  • Experience leading end-to-end source-to-pay processes, including spend analysis, benchmarking, TCO analysis, negotiations, supplier performance management, scorecards, contracting, and savings tracking
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong contract negotiation skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, governmental regulations, technical procedures, specifications, and drawings
  • Track record of developing and leading a team
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with sourcing and supplier management applications, preferably SAP Ariba
  • Ability to accommodate air and ground travel
