About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Engineer VDI design, deployment, and maintenance for FBI VDI systems and components
- Install, patch, upgrade, update, document, and deploy upgrades for Citrix and VMware VDI environments
- Provide on-site expertise for Citrix and VMware VDI environments
- Engineer and configure printing across various classification levels while ensuring data security
- Proactively address performance and anticipated user requirements
- Design VDI solutions and conduct planning, requirements analysis, pre- and post-implementation support, training, and maintenance
- Ensure performance, security, user experience, reliability, availability, and functional/non-functional requirements are met
- Maintain system documentation and assist with system accreditation and monitoring
- Engineer, deploy, and operate and maintain Microsoft operating system baseline images for FBI enterprise endpoints in accordance with DISA STIG and FBI security recommendations
- Provide engineering, deployment, and transition-to-O&M services for Microsoft applications, technologies, and integrated third-party tools
- Create automation scripts and deploy orchestration and automation processes supporting VDI, workstation, and Controlled Interface environments
- Engineer, deploy, and provide O&M for hyperconverged server and storage solutions in FBI VDI environments
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6 years of relevant experience designing and implementing virtual platforms for desktop, applications, and server virtualization solutions
- U.S. Citizenship required per contract to obtain and maintain a U.S. Top Secret clearance
- Hands-on experience implementing and supporting Citrix Xen Desktop, VMware vSphere, hypervisor management, Active Directory, GPO management, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure deployments
- Expert experience implementing and supporting Citrix Xen Desktop, application virtualization, load balancers, VMware vSphere, hypervisor design, hyperconverged deployments, VSAN administration, Microsoft SQL, Active Directory, GPO management, VDI deployments of 50,000+ desktops, and VMware VDI environments
- Desired certifications: Citrix Certified Associate (CCA-V), VMware Certified Professional 6 – Desktop and Mobility (VCP6-DTM), and/or Nutanix Platform Professional (NPP)
- Active TS clearance desired
- Ability to support Windows and Linux mixed environments
- Experience with Nutanix, Dell, and VMware hyperconverged technologies
- Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM), Microsoft System Center Software Portal (MSCSP), and Microsoft Office products
- Experience creating automation scripts and deploying orchestration and automation processes
