About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Translate Future Caucus’ organizational strategy into clear programmatic priorities, goals, outcomes, and success measures
  • Lead and oversee lawmaker programming strategy and execution across the member lifecycle
  • Supervise, coach, and lead program leaders and their direct reports
  • Create information-sharing streams across legislator-facing teams
  • Establish feedback, learning, performance, and accountability systems
  • Shape emerging roles, teams, and operating models as the organization grows
  • Organize work allocation, project management, training, problem resolution, and performance evaluation
  • Support development and management of programmatic budgets
  • Monitor stakeholder needs and convert field insights into organizational action
  • Build programmatic learning cycles using progress monitoring, data analysis, and trend adjustment
  • Ensure state chapter and cross-state programming models work together
  • Lead program input into strategic and annual planning
  • Strengthen strategic partnerships with program directors
  • Manage CRM accountability systems for relationship-management data
  • Represent programmatic strategy, quality, and impact to funders, partners, policymakers, and other external audiences
  • Participate in executive-team decision-making and quarterly Board of Directors meetings
  • Collaborate with Development on grant proposals and reports
  • Handle administrative tasks such as systems upkeep, expense reporting, data entry, and grant reporting
  • Perform other related duties as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Required 10+ years of relevant experience
  • At least 4 years of experience managing senior leaders and multidisciplinary teams across multiple programs on team sizes of 5+
  • Track record of leading teams to achieve more than they thought possible through strong staff development, coaching & leadership
  • In-depth familiarity with state-level politics and the day-to-day governing needs of young lawmakers
  • Strong network-building and relationship-building abilities
  • Comfortable speaking publicly on behalf of Future Caucus to VIP rooms
  • Creative, entrepreneurial, and self-motivated
  • High bar for excellence and ability to motivate others to achieve it
  • Detail-oriented and proactive communicator
  • Ability to manage direct reports and manage up laterally
  • Must be located in the Washington, D.C. metro area or willing to relocate
  • Commitment to working across partisan lines
  • Reference checks are conducted on all prospective new hires
