About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the sales tax compliance process for clients’ sales tax returns
- Conduct sales tax research projects
- Manage information and people related to sales tax compliance
- Interact with clients and manage staff
- Correspond with state and local tax authorities to resolve client issues
- Manage registrations and business licenses for clients
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years experience with sales tax compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent field
- CPA, JD, or Enrolled Agent
- CMI (sales tax) designation a plus
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Experience with sales tax preparation software such as Vertex or Alteryx
- Understanding of sales tax issues, including exemption certificate management, tax accruals and reserves, journal entries, and use tax issues
