About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead engagement management through internal communication and engagement-status tracking
  • Review engagement letters prepared by Associates
  • Review confirmations, including debt and syndicator confirmations
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding request lists and confirmations
  • Review or perform compliance testing for difficult HUD, RD, and NFP audits
  • Prepare audit files with trial balances, general ledgers, bank statements, and supporting documents
  • Prepare 10%, contractor and owner certifications, and DCRs
  • Review financial statement changes and draft AJEs, RJEs, and ATBs
  • Review or prepare final financial statements and lock-down files
  • Participate in firm initiatives
  • Mentor Associates and interns

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent field
  • 2+ years of progressive audit and/or assurance experience
  • Previous experience working in Affordable Housing preferred
  • Master’s degree in Accounting or equivalent field preferred
  • CPA or EA credentialing preferred
  • Ability to work in one of the Atlanta, GA; Johns Creek, GA; Birmingham, AL; or Columbus, OH offices
