About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage the sales tax compliance process for clients’ sales tax returns on the state and local tax (SALT) team (SUT)
- Manage information and people related to sales tax compliance
- Interact with clients and manage staff
- Correspond with state and local tax authorities to resolve client issues
- Manage registrations and business licenses for clients
- Interact with other state and local tax professionals and professionals across the firm
Requirements
What you’ll need- 2+ years experience with sales tax compliance
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent field
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Experience with sales tax preparation software such as Vertex or Alteryx
- Understanding of sales tax issues, including exemption certificate management, tax accruals and reserves, journal entries and use tax issue
- CMI (sales tax) designation a plus
- CPA
