Key responsibilities & impact

Build and maintain market optimization models to identify market dynamics, outlooks, and investment opportunities
Run and maintain existing Python models and support model development work
Collect, evaluate, and interpret market and/or technical data to provide actionable insights and recommendations
Design and set up database tables; collect and manage market and operations data
Build analysis tools for assessing market opportunities and energy storage trading performance
Research global energy market rules and trends to understand energy storage operations and market potential
Develop strategies, reports, and graphical outputs of revenue and system dispatch to support market investigation and business case development
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across due diligence, selection, integration, design, delivery, commissioning, and operation phases of projects, programs, and investments

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, Data Science, Engineering)
Minimum 5 years of experience in electricity market analysis or related field in Japan, preferably from a utility or consulting company
Strong knowledge of energy markets, particularly electricity and renewable energy sectors
Hands-on experience with market optimization tools and ability to interpret results
Intermediate to advanced Python skills with experience in data manipulation and modelling
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present complex information clearly and engagingly
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Passion for data analytics, clean energy, and sustainability
Previous energy storage industry experience is a plus
