About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Promote Elara Caring’s philosophy, mission statement, and administrative policies to ensure quality of care
- Perform direct physical therapy services according to accepted standards of practice and the patient’s physician-certified plan
- Follow the Plan of Care established by the Physical Therapist
- Report changes in patient status to the Physical Therapist
- Adhere to State Practice Act Guidelines
- Verify the Plan of Care before each visit
- Provide care according to physician’s orders, assessment data, and established standards and guidelines
- Incorporate patient care goals into therapy care
- Instruct patients and families in the safe use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices
- Instruct patients and caregivers in the therapy home program
- Report to the Branch Director, Clinical Manager, Clinical Supervisor, or designee
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association
- Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work
- 6+ months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred
- Able and willing to travel within branch/office coverage area
- Dependable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance in accordance with state laws
- Must be able and willing to travel 50%
- Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds
- Ability to handle, lift, and transfer patients and move equipment
- Ability to work in a physically demanding, high-stress environment
- Potentially able to work irregular hours, including call hours if applicable
