About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Promote Elara Caring’s philosophy, mission statement, and administrative policies to ensure quality of care
- Perform direct physical therapy services in accordance with accepted standards of practice and physician certification
- Follow the Plan of Care established by the Physical Therapist and report status changes to the Physical Therapist
- Verify the Plan of Care before each visit
- Provide care according to physician’s orders, assessment data, established standards, and guidelines
- Incorporate patient care goals into therapy care
- Instruct patients and families in safe use of prosthetic, orthotic, and assistive devices
- Instruct patients and caregivers in the therapy home program
- Provide home health care to patients in their preferred home setting
- Travel between patient homes and assigned work locations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program approved by the American Therapy Association
- Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work
- 6+ months experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant is preferred
- Able and willing to travel within branch/office coverage area
- Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record, OR have reliable transportation to travel between patient homes and assigned work locations
- Must be able and willing to travel 50%
- Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment
- Full range of body motion including handling, lifting and transfer of patients
- Potentially work irregular hours including call hours if applicable
- Adheres to the State Practice Act Guidelines
