About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct legal research and draft memos on environmental, human rights, administrative law, legal doctrines and mechanisms, and procedural rights

Requirements
What you’ll need- Current second-year (2L) student enrolled in a Juris Doctor (J.D.) program, or in the second year of an equivalent graduate-level legal education
- Current student enrolled in a Master of Laws (LL.M.) program
- International applicants with equivalent legal education are welcome to apply and should describe how their academic or professional background prepares them to succeed
- English proficiency; applicants from non-English-speaking countries may establish proficiency through TOEFL or IELTS scores, enrollment in an English-speaking LL.M., or another method
- Commitment to public interest law, environmental justice, and human rights
- Strong legal research, clear legal writing, and critical thinking skills
- Collaborative, communicative, and self-directed approach to managing time and projects
- Adaptability and openness to learning across legal systems and cultures
- Multilingual abilities or lived experience from frontline or underrepresented communities preferred but not required
- Submit one PDF containing a one-page cover letter, resume or CV, and legal writing sample of 10 pages maximum

Comp & perks- ELAW will supplement external funding to guarantee all interns receive a total rate of $17.50 per hour for 10 weeks of full-time work (up to $7,000 total)
