About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive development and execution of the national Seed category strategy
  • Manage strategic relationships with key suppliers and industry partners
  • Support commercial negotiations and growth opportunities
  • Develop and maintain category ranging, pricing and portfolio strategies
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer insights
  • Oversee inventory and supply planning
  • Partner with regional retail teams and branches to execute category initiatives and supplier programs
  • Manage revenue, margin, inventory and return-on-capital performance
  • Provide insights and recommendations for commercial decision-making
  • Ensure governance and compliance with regulatory requirements, contractual obligations and internal policies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Tertiary qualification in agriculture, agribusiness, business or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Full unrestricted driver’s licence
  • Willingness and ability to travel as part of the role
  • Demonstrated experience in agribusiness, retail distribution, category management or the seed industry
  • Experience with supplier, pricing, inventory and business planning
  • Strong commercial acumen, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate insights into practical actions
  • Proven ability to build productive supplier and stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to work collaboratively across a geographically dispersed network
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence and provide clear commercial guidance
  • Strong self-management, organisation and prioritisation skills
  • Experience working in a multi-site sales organisation and/or agricultural retail environment highly regarded
  • Knowledge of the Australian seed market highly regarded
  • Right to live and work in Australia
