About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable and secure AWS cloud-native solutions
- Collaborate with security experts to translate organizational security requirements into secure and compliant cloud implementations
- Develop and maintain infrastructure as code across numerous Azure and AWS accounts
- Maintain and optimize CI/CD automation pipelines
- Create automation scripts in Python, Bash, JavaScript and other relevant languages
- Contribute to infrastructure supporting Generative AI applications on domain-specific datasets
- Automate creation and management of front-end and back-end applications, pipelines and security tooling
- Define and advocate DevOps best practices and standards across Element 84 and customer organizations
- Collaborate closely with technical teams and customers on complex operational systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years of experience in software development
- 3+ years specifically focused on cloud technologies
- Strong hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, including writing, maintaining and troubleshooting complex cloud configurations
- Strong experience developing in one or more programming languages such as Python, Bash or JavaScript
- Demonstrable experience designing, deploying and managing infrastructure and services on a major cloud platform
- Ability to document and communicate architectural concepts through presentations, visual architecture representations and white papers
- Experience negotiating tradeoffs among security, performance, maintainability and cost
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work across competing demands and multiple customers
- Extensive experience working within an Agile Development software team
- Solid experience with Linux environments
- Deep understanding of cloud architecture patterns and tradeoffs
- Expertise with build and deployment automation tools
- Proficiency with infrastructure monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, AWS Config, Kibana, Splunk, Grafana, OpenTelemetry or Honeycomb
- Experience with data storage and data engineering technologies such as ElasticSearch, SQL, NoSQL, DynamoDB, Redshift, Athena or Glue
- Experience with networking technologies such as CloudFront, Route53, load balancers, API Gateway, VPCs and NACLs
- Technical cloud certification or willingness to obtain one
- Active NOAA CAC badge
- Applicant must be a US Person: US citizen or legal permanent resident
- Applicant must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
