About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead full development of the ActiveCopper paste deposition process optimized for quality and consistency
- Advance product maturity from Early > Capable toward Capable > Deployed
- Provide leadership, supervision and mentoring to Applications Managers, Engineers and Applications Technicians
- Develop leadership and managerial skills for direct reports
- Own development plans for team members to become subject matter experts on Active Copper application processes
- Organize and staff the Application Qualification Team and Application Deployment Team
- Integrate developed paste deposition processes into full board builds, including preplate, sinter, post-plate, and planarization
- Ensure systematic studies are designed and executed using advanced printing, vacuum-assisted deposition, laser stencil cutting, and sinter press equipment
- Generate data packages supporting customer qualification and scale-up
- Lead customer technical reviews and troubleshooting sessions
- Help customers qualify and scale ActiveCopper on their production lines
- Collaborate with R&D Innovation, metrology, Business Development, and Product Management teams
- Resolve chemistry, process, and equipment challenges tied to Active Copper adoption
- Ensure ADT and AQT groups have appropriate metrology equipment, including cross-section, SEM, AOI, and X-ray techniques
- Lead technical presentations and reports for internal partners and external customers
- Author technical documentation and best-practice guidelines
- Provide input into the strategic direction of the Active Copper business unit
- Participate in global technical knowledge-sharing forums and collaborate with teams and customers across multiple countries
Requirements
What you’ll need- 10-15 years of relevant technical experience in electronics manufacturing, materials science, or a related applications field
- Likely education background in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or Materials Science
- Experience leading a group of 7+ engineers and/or scientists
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and development
- Previous experience and demonstrated success in a global leadership role
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
- Ability to lead and coach teams to problem solve through design and interpret experiments utilizing statistical analyses
- Proficiency in DOE, Six Sigma, or related methodologies
- Ability to link business strategy, customer applications, and technical knowledge to advance the company's commercial position
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience authoring technical reports and delivering presentations to technical and customer audiences
- Prioritizes safety of self and team and actively contributes to a culture of safety
- Direct hands-on experience with fabrication of semiconductor, microelectronics, medical devices, printed circuitry fabrication and materials is a plus
