Key responsibilities & impact

Lead full development of the ActiveCopper paste deposition process optimized for quality and consistency
Advance product maturity from Early > Capable toward Capable > Deployed
Provide leadership, supervision, and mentoring to Applications Managers, Engineers, and Applications Technicians
Develop leadership and managerial skills for direct reports
Own development plans for team members toward ActiveCopper application-process subject matter expertise
Organize and staff the Application Qualification Team and Application Deployment Team
Integrate paste deposition processes into full board builds, including preplate, sinter, post-plate, and planarization
Direct systematic studies using advanced printing, vacuum-assisted deposition, laser stencil cutting, and sinter press equipment
Generate data packages supporting customer qualification and scale-up
Develop the applications group for customer technical reviews and troubleshooting sessions
Lead customer qualification and scale-up of ActiveCopper on customer production lines
Foster collaboration with R&D Innovation, metrology, Business Development, and Product Management teams
Resolve chemistry, process, and equipment challenges tied to ActiveCopper adoption
Ensure metrology equipment and techniques support cross-section, SEM, AOI, and X-ray characterization
Coach the organization in creating and delivering technical presentations and reports
Author technical documentation and best-practice guidelines
Provide strategic input to the ActiveCopper business unit
Partner with global teams and sites in San Jose, Waterbury, Japan, China, Taiwan, and South Korea
Represent ActiveCopper applications with customers and internal stakeholders
Participate in global technical knowledge-sharing forums

Requirements

What you’ll need

10-15 years of relevant technical experience in electronics manufacturing, materials science, or a related applications field
Likely education background in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering, or Materials Science
Experience leading a group of 7+ engineers and/or scientists
Demonstrated experience mentoring and development
Previous experience and demonstrated success in a global leadership role
Willingness to travel up to 50%
Ability to lead and coach teams in problem-solving through design and interpretation of experiments using statistical analyses
Proficiency in DOE, Six Sigma, or related methodologies
Direct hands-on experience with fabrication of semiconductor, microelectronics, medical devices, printed circuitry fabrication and materials is a plus
Ability to link business strategy, customer applications, and technical knowledge to advance the company's commercial position
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience authoring technical reports and delivering presentations to technical and customer audiences
Prioritizes safety of self and team and actively contributes to a culture of safety
