About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, enhance, and maintain efficient, secure, and reliable CI/CD pipelines
Define and lead infrastructure architecture on Google Cloud Platform, with a focus on scalability, security, and cost efficiency
Provision and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform
Lead the implementation of serverless and container-based solutions using Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and GKE
Establish monitoring, observability, and alerting for environments
Manage incidents and conduct root cause analysis
Define cloud security best practices, including IAM, secrets management, and the principle of least privilege
Collaborate with development teams and serve as a technical reference, supporting the growth of more junior professionals
Create and maintain scripts to automate operational tasks
Diagnose and resolve complex issues in production environments

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong experience with Linux systems administration
Advanced knowledge of Bash and Shell Scripting
Strong experience with CI/CD tools, preferably GitHub Actions; experience with GitLab CI, Cloud Build, Jenkins, and other tools is also valued
Advanced experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud Build, Artifact Registry, Cloud SQL, Cloud Storage, VPC, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud DNS, Cloud NAT, IAM, Service Accounts, Workload Identity Federation, Secret Manager, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Error Reporting, and Pub/Sub
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform
Proficiency in containerization with Docker and experience with Kubernetes orchestration (GKE)
Experience with monitoring and observability, including Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools
Strong knowledge of networking: TCP/IP, VPC, DNS, and load balancing
Experience with relational databases, including MySQL/Cloud SQL, backups, replication, and performance analysis
Advanced Git usage and modern version control practices
Nice to have: GCP certifications; Ansible or other configuration management tools; NoSQL databases and other DBMSs; Redis/Memorystore and Memcached; microservices/distributed environments; Kafka and RabbitMQ; SRE practices (SLIs/SLOs); FinOps; PHP development with Laravel, Symfony, or similar frameworks
