About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify, evaluate, and respond to financial risks in pricing and development of health insurance products
  • Prepare and interpret data, actuarial analyses, and related formulae to develop pricing strategies
  • Lead rate development and filings for the Individual business, specifically non-Blue states
  • Evaluate financial performance for the Individual business
  • Monitor profit and profitability trends
  • Develop pricing recommendations and partner with local pricing teams to align with segment financial targets
  • Serve as the Actuarial representative on major, multi-function projects
  • Provide actuarial certification or sign-off on rate filings as appropriate
  • Organize and direct workflow for Individual pricing activities
  • Provide actuarial leadership for Individual pricing activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BA/BS degree and minimum of 6 years related experience, or any combination of education and experience providing an equivalent background
  • ASA required from the Society of Actuaries (SOA)
  • FSA strongly preferred
  • Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance from a posting location unless accommodation is granted as required by law
  • Ability to work in-office 3 days per week
  • Actuarial analysis and formula interpretation
  • Health insurance product pricing and development knowledge
  • Rate development and filings experience
  • Financial performance evaluation
  • Profitability trend analysis
  • Individual business pricing experience, specifically non-Blue states
