About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure special programs are equipped to take a “Technology First” approach to meeting members’ needs
  • Develop person-centered and customized technology solutions aligned with members’ autonomy and independence goals
  • Identify new and emerging technology
  • Analyze the needs of members with disabilities and assist with selecting appropriate assistive technology
  • Engage with internal coordination teams to evaluate opportunities for assistive technology applications
  • Review members’ person-centered support plans for assistive technology integration opportunities
  • Engage with members, housing specialists, and employment specialists to evaluate assistive technology applications supporting employment and community living outcomes
  • Remain current on emerging technology and identify resources and applicability to members
  • Collaborate with Provider Services to increase available assistive technology vendors/providers and recommend vendor recruitment and equipment needs
  • Evaluate assistive technology requests for appropriateness and budget compliance
  • Provide initial and refresher assistive technology training to providers as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BA/BS degree
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in assessing and applying assistive technology for individuals or organizations or personal experience using assistive technology
  • Any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
  • Assistive Technology Professional certification from Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of America (RESNA) preferred
  • Experience working with Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) / waiver programs preferred
  • Candidates must be within a reasonable commuting distance from the posting location(s), unless accommodation is granted as required by law
  • New candidates in certain patient/member-facing roles must become vaccinated against COVID-19 and Influenza, unless they provide an acceptable explanation
