About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Serve as an expert in data analysis, reporting and formulating recommendations
Provide guidance to other data analysts
Perform established analysis for routine diagnoses of quality, use, cost and other variables for opportunity assessments
Develop and analyze business performance reports for claims, provider and utilization data
Provide notations of performance deviations and anomalies
Create and publish periodic reports and necessary ad hoc reports
Execute identification and stratification algorithms to select members for targeted solutions
Apply analytical methods such as customer segment profiling, experimental design and regression analysis
Provide analytic consultation to other business areas, leadership and external customers
Perform highly complex data analysis and reporting

Requirements

What you’ll need

Requires a BS/BA degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
Working experience with Python/R or equivalent analytical tools
Experience with Teradata, SQL, Snowflake or equivalent database tools
Direct experience applying statistical/analytical tools to solve research/practical problems
Substantial analytical experience in the healthcare industry preferred
Familiarity with medical management or population health programs preferred
Strong understanding of actuarial principles and managed care operations preferred
Working knowledge of healthcare data and measurement standards such as ICD10, CPT/HCPCS, MS-DRG, DxCG, PMPM, and utilization per 1,000 preferred
Advanced SQL and Excel skills preferred
Ability to present meaningful results to a business audience and large multi-disciplinary audiences
Ability to participate collaboratively in a team tasked to produce complex analyses on a rigorous schedule
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to design modeling studies
Experience with data models
Experience addressing data quality issues in study design
Experience constructing robust and efficient analytical data sets
