About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead the Medicaid marketing strategy and oversee activities designed to promote membership and increase health plan awareness
Maintain records of Medicaid marketing activities and provide current event schedules when requested by ODM
Ensure Medicaid marketing activities, events, communications, and materials comply with ODM requirements
Oversee development, review, submission, approval, and distribution of marketing and member communications
Ensure new and revised marketing and member communications receive required ODM approval before distribution
Lead oversight and compliance of Medicaid marketing representatives, including requirements, training, competency standards, Ohio Department of Insurance licensing, and approved marketing practices
Ensure representatives understand Medicaid benefits, approved marketing tactics, nondiscrimination and accessibility requirements, materials, and codes of conduct
Partner with Compliance, Legal, Communications, Member Services, Community Relations, Growth, Operations, and other internal teams
Ensure marketing materials provide translation, interpretation, alternative formats, and auxiliary aids and services
Maintain governance and controls around approvals, documentation, material inventories, event activities, and regulatory submissions
Escalate suspected marketing violations and coordinate responses, including discontinuation of materials when directed by ODM

Requirements

What you’ll need

Requires a BA/BS degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience including prior leadership experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
Extensive experience leading and developing staff responsible for Medicaid marketing operations, marketing materials and approvals, community/event marketing, member communications, and regulatory compliance preferred
Experience coordinating with Medicaid MGE and Medicare Enterprise Marketing preferred
Strong understanding of Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) preferred
Must be comfortable effectively communicating the health plan’s programs, services, and value to eligible individuals and members strongly preferred
Candidates must be within a reasonable commuting distance from the posting location(s), unless an accommodation is granted as required by law
