About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide patient care within the Family Nurse Practitioner scope of practice in the clinical setting.
  • Administer ordered therapies according to prescriber orders, facility protocols, INS standards, and company policies and procedures.
  • Complete the admission process as directed by the Center Director.
  • Perform physical assessments on patients and new consults as warranted.
  • Refer patients to the NP on duty for complete physical assessments as needed.
  • Document pertinent data in patient medical records.
  • Report significant changes or observations to the Center Director and follow up on identified problems.
  • Communicate patient status and observations with other IV team members.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA laws and regulations.
  • Evaluate and document patient responses to therapy.
  • Educate patients and family members about therapy plans.
  • Participate in the Quality Improvement program.
  • Ensure medication orders are complete, appropriate, accurate, and current before treatment.
  • Participate in the On-Call program, including possible after-hours, weekend, and holiday calls and visitations.
  • Provide clinical coverage for nurse practitioners on PTO/LOA and support new market launches.
  • Travel to worksites and other locations as necessary.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Requires an MS in Nursing and minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Experience with IVs required.
  • Current, active, and valid unrestricted NP license to practice as a healthcare professional with scope of license in applicable state required.
  • Requires active, current, and valid Family Nurse Practitioner Certification.
  • Multi-state licensure is required if providing services in multiple states.
  • Satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is required.
  • Hepatitis B vaccine or signed waiver.
  • Healthcare experience with IV’s strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience with IV preferred.
  • Port, PICC & Peripheral Line experience preferred.
  • Medication Mixing experience preferred.
  • Titration experience preferred.
  • Candidates must be within a reasonable commuting distance from the posting location(s), unless an accommodation is granted as required by law.
  • New candidates in certain patient/member-facing roles must become vaccinated against COVID-19 and Influenza, unless an acceptable explanation is provided.
