About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and define reference infrastructure architectures and components
- Prepare business cases, secure funding, and drive implementation of new technologies based on business value and return on investment
- Own the platform architecture vision and ensure components are appropriately designed and leveraged
- Lead construction of infrastructure architecture components
- Define business and IT recovery operating environments
- Anticipate and define architecture standards aligned with customer, IT, and industry standards
- Drive solutions addressing service requirements, component capacities, and loads for planned business growth
- Define systems and technical architectures for strategic initiatives and ensure compliance with Enterprise Architecture and domain roadmaps
- Develop and maintain the enterprise Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID architecture roadmap
- Design scalable, secure, resilient, and highly available identity solutions
- Lead identity modernization initiatives, including tiered administration, hybrid identity, cloud adoption, and directory consolidation
- Establish and maintain architectural standards, governance models, and operational frameworks
- Support identity integration for mergers and acquisitions
- Partner with IAM teams to implement and enforce enterprise identity standards
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to engineering and operations teams
- Lead major incident response and root cause analysis for identity-related services
- Conduct security assessments, audits, and remediation activities
- Support SOX, HIPAA, PCI, and GDPR compliance initiatives
- Develop PowerShell automation and scripting solutions
- Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures
- Communicate with stakeholders and deliver executive-level presentations
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience in architecture/design in relevant technology disciplines
- Reside within commuting distance of an Elevance Health Pulse Point office location
- Expertise in Active Directory forest and domain architecture
- Organizational Unit (OU) design and management
- Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
- LDAP services
- Trust relationships
- Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and certificate services
- Federation technologies
- Kerberos authentication
- Tiered administration and privileged access strategies
- Directory replication, resiliency, and operational health
- Microsoft Entra Connect and Cloud Sync
- Privileged Identity Management (PIM) and privileged access management
- Just-In-Time (JIT) administration
- Zero Trust architecture and principles
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) enforcement
- Conditional Access policies
- Security assessments, audits, and remediation
- Compliance initiatives including SOX, HIPAA, PCI, and GDPR
- PowerShell automation and scripting
- Technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures
- Executive-level presentations
