About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Respond to basic customer questions by telephone and written correspondence regarding retail and mail-order prescriptions
- Develop and maintain positive customer relations
- Coordinate with company functions to resolve customer requests appropriately and timely
- Interact with subscribers, providers, benefit administrators, physician offices, third-party representatives, and other Blue Cross Plans
- Provide claims, customer service, and membership support
- Research issues and provide proactive, thorough solutions
- Own service requests through high-quality resolution and follow-through
- Guide customers through personal options, decisions, technology, tools, and resources
- Handle calls, texts, facsimiles, and electronic queues while taking notes and speaking with customers
- Work occasional overtime or adjust schedule based on business needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- HS diploma or equivalent and previous experience in an automated customer service environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bilingual Spanish or multi-language skills required
- Must pass a validated language test/assessment
- High volume call center experience preferred
- Specialty pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Problem-solving, facilitation, and analytical skills
- Ability to multitask while handling calls, texts, facsimiles, and electronic queues
- Ability to maintain focus during extended periods of sitting
- Proficiency with digital tools and platforms
- Ability to work structured shifts between 4:00am and 10:00pm
- Ability to work in the office as necessary and commute within a reasonable distance of a posted location
- Candidates must reside in one of the posted locations
- Required vaccination against COVID-19 and Influenza for certain patient/member-facing roles, unless an acceptable explanation is provided
