About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Interpret and enter moderately complex prescriptions
  • Process prior authorizations
  • Troubleshoot adjudication issues
  • Verify member information and input data for pharmacists
  • Educate members on pharmacy-based rules related to prescriptions and medication resources or assistance programs
  • Process prior authorization requests from physicians' offices
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare requirements
  • Inform relevant parties of prior authorization determinations
  • Resolve grievances and appeals issues
  • Respond to inquiries from physicians, sales teams, and members about formulary and prescription benefits
  • Generate reports relating to rebates, physician utilization, Beers Criteria, Reliance members, and other ad hoc reports
  • Maintain records of prior authorizations, rebates, and monthly reports
  • Support Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial member populations through the Clinical Pharmacy Care Center

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • H.S. diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience
  • Active, professional license, if required by state law
  • State Pharmacy Technician Certification based on applicable state requirements
  • National Certification based on applicable state requirements
  • Ability to practice as a Pharmacy Technician within the scope of practice in a state or territory of the United States
  • Current Pharmacy Tech license and certification required for the CPCC business area
  • Experience communicating with and supporting Medicare members preferred
  • Call center experience with high call volumes preferred
  • Experience discussing medication adherence preferred
  • Proficiency in computer systems and multitasking preferred
  • Patient care experience preferred
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Problem-solving skills

  • Analytical skills
  • Ability to work within a reasonable commuting distance from a posting location, unless an accommodation is granted as required by law
