About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the Risk, Controls, and Assurance team in ensuring the stability and compliance of internal controls over financial reporting and audit/regulatory compliance obligations
  • Create and document results of control testing and review
  • Provide research support
  • Develop work programs and engagement plans
  • Collaborate with audit team members
  • Assess risk of financial processes, operational processes, and supporting IT systems
  • Document business processes dependent on financial data systems
  • Analyze results of specific or general work requests
  • Maintain direct contact with external audit firms for audit planning and remediation
  • Perform innovative work supporting members, customers, and communities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related program (MSA, MBA, MSIS, etc.)
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship
  • Ability to work in-office at least once per week
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a team-based environment
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel, Word, and Access
  • Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
  • Interest in health care and insurance
  • Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance from a posting location unless accommodation is granted as required by law
