About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Direct sales and retention strategy for large, complex national accounts
  • Develop strategies and execute sales plans to achieve membership growth and financial goals
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders and potential clients to drive medical, wellness, and specialty product sales
  • Lead finalist presentations and executive customer engagements for new business and strategic account opportunities
  • Build relationships with broker and consultant partners in Texas and key markets
  • Travel to client sites and other business locations throughout Texas and, as needed, surrounding states
  • Support sales opportunities, including Second Blue opportunities where the company is selected to compete or present
  • Operate primarily in the field with occasional office attendance for meetings or training
  • Manage and support national medical sales opportunities for TX-based subscribers and surrounding markets

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Requires a BA/BS and a minimum of 10 years of professional/leadership experience, or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
  • Must obtain and maintain required Department of Insurance (DOI) licenses and carrier appointments in applicable state(s)
  • Experience in health insurance sales in local and national markets strongly preferred
  • Excellent managerial and leadership skills
  • Extensive knowledge of local and national markets and health insurance sales, including direct-to-employer sales
  • Experience interacting confidently with senior management and executive-level stakeholders
  • Ability to influence decision-making
  • Excellent written, oral, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, MS Teams, and Salesforce highly preferred
  • Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance from the posting location(s), unless an accommodation is granted as required by law
  • Travel of 50%-70% required
  • Candidates in certain patient/member-facing roles must become vaccinated against COVID-19 and Influenza, unless an acceptable explanation is provided
