About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Analyze, report, and develop recommendations on complex and varied business metrics
Provide technical assistance to lower-level staff
Take ownership of supported systems and data
Create and maintain databases to track business performance
Analyze data and summarize performance using summary statistical procedures
Develop and analyze business performance reports for claims, provider, utilization, and related data
Document performance deviations and anomalies
Create and publish periodic and ad hoc reports
Devise diagnostic and tracking data solutions that translate business requirements into decision-support tools
Make recommendations based on data analysis
Question inefficient processes and recommend improved designs
Automate repetitive work and introduce approaches that improve performance, reliability, and maintainability
Collaborate while independently solving complex data challenges

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS/BA degree in a related field
Minimum of 3 years of data analysis or related experience
Alternatively, any combination of education and experience providing an equivalent background
Minimum of three years of professional experience developing and supporting solutions in Microsoft SQL Server environments highly preferred
Strong proficiency with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and advanced SQL, including complex queries, joins, subqueries, common table expressions, temporary tables, window functions, and data aggregation highly preferred
Ability to design and modify relational database structures considering scalability, maintainability, performance, and downstream reporting needs highly preferred
Strong understanding of relational database concepts, data types, primary and foreign keys, indexing, normalization, referential integrity, and transactional processing highly preferred
Experience supporting data for operational reports, analytics, dashboards, or downstream systems highly preferred
Experience developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting backend database objects, including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and scheduled processes preferred
Experience writing and reviewing data definition and data manipulation scripts preferred
Experience analyzing and resolving data quality, application, and production-support issues across interconnected tables and processes preferred
Ability to translate business and application requirements into reliable, secure, and maintainable technical solutions preferred
Government Business Division assignments may require additional background checks, government clearances, training, monitoring, and sensitive data handling
Candidates in certain patient/member-facing roles must meet applicable COVID-19 and Influenza vaccination requirements
