About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Analyze complex and varied business data
- Create and maintain databases to track business performance
- Analyze data and summarize performance using summary statistical procedures
- Develop and analyze business performance reports involving claims, provider, utilization, and other healthcare data
- Identify, investigate, and document performance deviations, trends, and data anomalies
- Prepare and publish recurring regulatory reports and ad hoc reports and analyses
- Translate complex business and regulatory requirements into diagnostic, tracking, and decision-support tools
- Develop data-driven recommendations supporting business decisions and regulatory compliance
- Provide analytical consultation to business partners, leadership, and external stakeholders
- Analyze and report on large, complex datasets requiring advanced technical and analytical judgment
- Respond to state inquiries regarding reported data
- Provide technical guidance to less-experienced team members
Requirements
What you’ll need- Requires a BS/BA degree in related field
- Minimum of 3 years data analysis or related experience
- Any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
- Advanced SQL and Tableau highly preferred
- Experience with reporting and query tools such as SSIS, SSRS, EDM, Snowflake, or Python preferred
- Experience with relational databases and knowledge of query tools and statistical software strongly preferred
- Ability to manipulate large sets of data strongly preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, presentation, and problem solving skills strongly preferred
- Healthcare industry and Medicaid experience preferred
- Associates must work at an Elevance Health location at least once per week unless specified as primarily virtual
- Candidates must be within a reasonable commuting distance from the posting location(s), unless an accommodation is granted
