About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in all phases of the design and development life cycle for analytic applications and reporting tools
  • Maintain customer relationships to determine business requirements
  • Identify improvement opportunities and alternate solutions
  • Collaborate with engineers on interactive web portal content and evaluate enhancements
  • Define application scope and objectives and prepare functional or technical specifications
  • Analyze business and technical requirements
  • Code and maintain complex information-system components
  • Mentor others on coding standards and perform code reviews
  • Develop and execute system testing, fix defects, and re-execute unit tests
  • Integrate with other IT departments for implementation and project support
  • Maintain the technical development environment and implementation plan
  • Develop training documentation and identify additional needs and enhancements
  • Manage small projects and provide mentoring and training
  • Serve as subject matter expert for Business Intelligence applications
  • Establish connectivity to source systems and data repositories
  • Conduct data discovery and assess data strengths, limitations, and opportunities
  • Develop strategic reports from the data warehouse using SQL
  • Maintain knowledge of data warehouse design, data definitions, and data integrity
  • Collaborate with database developers, data analysts, project managers, IT engineers, and external partners
  • Performance-tune SQL queries for business-critical processes and service-level agreements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field of study, and a minimum of 3 years’ experience on one platform, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, CTEs, window functions, stored procedures, and large-volume data transformations
  • Experience designing, developing, and supporting healthcare data feeds highly preferred
  • Experience with patient- and prescription-level specialty pharmacy data highly preferred
  • Experience translating source-to-target mapping requirements into ETL/ELT solutions, outbound feeds, validation rules, and transformation logic highly preferred
  • Experience with data quality, operational controls, healthcare data privacy, HIPAA, PHI, PII, Snowflake, SQL Server, or SSIS highly preferred
  • Ability to work in-office 1–2 days per week and within reasonable commuting distance of a posting location
