About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead end-to-end application system development and maintenance on large, complex enterprise-wide technology platforms
Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, REST APIs, and microservices
Implement ORM/JPA/Hibernate models and integrate with relational or NoSQL databases
Build, optimize, and troubleshoot microservices, including inter-service communication and API orchestration
Convert monolithic applications to microservices-based architectures
Build responsive, high-performance UI components using JavaScript/TypeScript with Angular or React
Integrate UI with backend services to ensure security, usability, and reliability
Maintain customer relationships to determine business requirements
Lead requirements-gathering meetings and review designs with the business
Lead efforts with Web and marketing teams to increase web product presence
Anticipate technical change and keep company technology ahead of the curve
Prioritize projects and make enterprise-systems change trade-offs based on business needs
Own architecture understanding, scaling, and reliability limits for a major business area
Own the change-request process and coordinate with other teams
Develop and own the list of final enhancements
Define application scope and objectives and supervise technical and functional specifications
Perform technical design reviews and code reviews
Ensure unit testing, system testing, and implementation meet plan requirements
Participate in multi-year technology strategy development for critical business areas
Partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders on long-term technology infrastructure direction
Create architecture and anticipate future technology needs
Lead internal technology-direction discussions and drive team consensus
Coordinate and manage on-call support and own system monitoring processes
Review and monitor initiatives for end-to-end impact and coordination
Participate in enterprise-solution review and decision-making

Requirements

What you’ll need

BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field of study
Minimum of 9 years of experience
Multi-dimensional platform experience
Expert-level experience with business and technical applications
8 to 10 years of hands-on software engineering development experience strongly preferred
Hands-on design, development, architecture, and technical leadership experience strongly preferred
Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, REST, Microservices, JPA/Hibernate, ORM frameworks, and frontend development using Angular/React with TypeScript preferred
Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and core DevOps practices preferred
Practical exposure to integrating AI/ML components into enterprise solutions preferred
Experience evaluating AI frameworks and implementing model inference pipelines, embedding AI into microservices, and using vector stores, APIs, or cloud AI services strongly preferred
Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance from a posting location unless an accommodation is granted
