About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain SSIS packages for enterprise ETL and data integration
Develop ETL solutions to extract, transform, and load data from multiple source systems
Support and enhance existing SSIS interfaces and integrations
Troubleshoot SSIS package failures, data issues, and production incidents
Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and database objects
Integrate data from SQL Server, Oracle, flat files, CSV/Excel files, and SFTP locations
Implement error handling, logging, auditing, notifications, and restart/recovery mechanisms
Schedule and monitor SSIS jobs using SQL Server Agent
Perform SSIS package and SQL query performance tuning for high-volume data processing
Conduct impact analysis, effort estimation, code reviews, and technical documentation
Support deployments across development, UAT, and production environments
Provide L2/L3 production support, root-cause analysis, and permanent fixes for recurring issues
Collaborate with functional teams, application teams, DBAs, and business stakeholders
Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance when required

Requirements

What you’ll need

7–9 years of overall IT experience with strong hands-on expertise in SSIS and SQL Server
Strong experience in ETL development, data integration, and data migration
Advanced knowledge of T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server
Experience with stored procedures, functions, views, joins, indexing, query optimization, and performance tuning
Hands-on experience with SSIS Data Flow Tasks, Control Flow Tasks, Lookup, Merge, Conditional Split, Derived Column, Execute SQL Task, Script Task, and File System Task
Knowledge of SSIS configurations, parameters, variables, connection managers, and deployment models
Experience implementing logging, exception handling, audit controls, and failure/restart mechanisms
Experience with SQL Server Agent jobs and scheduling
Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and production support experience
Experience with SSIS integration with Oracle and heterogeneous data sources
Experience with SFTP and automated file-based integrations
Git, Azure DevOps, or other source-control and CI/CD tools
Exposure to Azure Data Factory (ADF)
Agile/Scrum delivery experience
Knowledge of ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good verbal and written communication
Ability to independently resolve complex technical and production issues
Effective coordination with technical, functional, business, and client teams
Strong ownership and accountability
