About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build a reliable financial system for contractor payments
  • Show what Eli has advanced, expects to collect, has been repaid, and what needs intervention
  • Improve payments, reconciliation, collections, and reporting
  • Reduce reliance on spreadsheets, manual investigation, and individual knowledge
  • Understand operational exceptions and design clear workflows around underlying rules
  • Identify business constraints and sequence product bets
  • Personally research, prototype, validate, and ship solutions
  • Lead work from discovery through production, including requirements, edge cases, implementation partnership, and impact evaluation
  • Use AI to increase the product and engineering team’s building leverage
  • Improve tools and practices for rapid learning and shipping
  • Contribute to broader company priorities and future product capabilities and roles

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Staff-level scope or demonstrated equivalent impact, typically through 8+ years in product management or adjacent product-building roles
  • Deep experience with lending, payments, servicing, reconciliation, treasury, ledgers, credit, or other financial infrastructure
  • Experience with contractor finance, receivables-backed lending, or capital products is especially relevant
  • Alternatively, deep experience building software for energy programs or another complex, compliance-heavy, rules-based operation, along with strong financial judgment and ability to learn a new domain quickly
  • Experience taking ambiguous, important problems from initial investigation to a product used in the real world
  • Ability to identify when a solution requires a better data model, operational policy, control, integration, or process
  • Ability to reason about money movement, failed transactions, permissions, and unexpected cases
  • Ability to work closely with engineers and make good technical decisions
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in plain language
  • Experience using modern AI tools to build a product, internal tool, prototype, or side project
  • Willingness to change direction based on evidence
  • Willingness to remain close to users, implementation, and product-building work
