About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Ensure the stable operation of Linux platforms, including maintenance, patch management, and lifecycle management
Monitor the availability, performance, and capacity of Linux environments
Analyze, prioritize, and sustainably resolve incidents, problems, and operational disruptions
Identify vulnerabilities and bottlenecks to continuously improve platform stability
Support the implementation of platform standards as well as security and compliance requirements
Implement and process standard service requests
Plan, coordinate, and implement changes, migrations, rollouts, and infrastructure projects
Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and internal departments
Further develop and implement automation, GitOps, and Infrastructure as Code approaches using Ansible, Bash, and other tools
Create and maintain technical documentation and operating procedures
Participate in the 24/7 on-call service for Linux platforms

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed degree or vocational training in computer science or a comparable field
Several years of experience administering and operating enterprise Linux environments, ideally based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), including related management platforms such as Red Hat Satellite
Strong knowledge of operating virtualized infrastructures as well as monitoring, performance management, and capacity management
Knowledge of IT security, high availability, and disaster recovery
Practical experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Bash, and Git-based operating models
Basic understanding of modern operating approaches such as GitOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and DevOps
Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
Independent and proactive working style
Very good German language skills (B2/C1) and good English language skills (B1)
