About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver expert accounting and financial support to buy-side clients and assist in enhancing finance functions for acquired entities
- Provide sell-side accounting and finance advisory services throughout transaction processes
- Lead multiple finance transformation engagements and oversee accounting, FP&A, and/or technology workstreams
- Provide interim finance leadership during buy-side post-close activities and sell-side preparation and diligence support
- Lead 100-day integration activities, including converting to accrual accounting, establishing opening balance sheets, expediting month-end close, preparing reporting packages, building FP&A, preparing for the first-year audit, building the internal team, and analyzing technology opportunities
- Address financial information gaps by implementing accounting processes, policies, and procedures
- Prepare opening balance sheets and post-close purchase price adjustments
- Analyze client business drivers, trends, developments, and performance improvement opportunities
- Own client relationships, engagement economics, and resource management
- Identify new client pursuits and develop proposal and thought leadership content
- Lead conversations with teams, clients, and stakeholders
- Collaborate with acquired-entity personnel and client teams
- Ensure deliverables meet deadlines and firm quality standards
- Oversee staff scheduling and budget management
- Create a collaborative team environment and motivate team members
- Coach and develop team members
- Perform other duties within the scope of the practice
Requirements
What you’ll need- 8+ years of public accounting, operational finance leadership (Controller, Director, VP Finance, CFO), and/or M&A experience
- Ideally has worked for / with PE portfolio and other high-growth companies
- Experience transforming a finance function to be a strategic partner throughout the business
- High level comprehension of accounting principles coupled with ability to effectively communicate
- Experience implementing BI tools
- Interest in utilizing AI throughout the finance function
- Experience hiring, developing and leading a finance team
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Effective time management skills
- CPA Certification is a plus, but not required
