About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and grow a diverse portfolio of commercial loans
- Build and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients
- Identify new business opportunities and drive commercial loan business, revenue, and deposit growth
- Interview applicants to determine loan requirements and gather information for loan applications
- Analyze financial statements and relevant data to recommend lending solutions
- Evaluate creditworthiness and present structured lending proposals
- Offer tailored financial solutions to meet client objectives and enhance satisfaction and retention
- Develop customized loan proposals and present them to clients
- Follow up on pending loan deals and loan renewals
- Prepare sales activity reports and provide portfolio, business, and market updates to the Market President or Commercial Loan Committee
- Present metrics, successes, challenges, and recommendations during management meetings
- Monitor loan performance and manage risk
- Identify business opportunities and develop strategic partnerships across the region
- Prospect for new clients and expand the credit union’s market share
- Present credit union products and services to attract and retain clients
- Leverage industry contacts and relationships to generate revenue and achieve sales goals
- Cross-sell additional products and services
- Participate in industry forums and business networks to increase brand awareness and build relationships
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Management or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Commercial Business Lending & Business Development or Credit Analyst role
- Bondable
- Acceptable Credit History
- Meet SAFE Act Requirements
- Knowledge of commercial lending industry, processes, policies, and portfolio management
- Knowledge of commercial and consumer lending regulations, compliance, regulatory reporting, and practices
- Knowledge of the Credit Union’s financial software system applicable to member services, sales/referrals, commercial lending, and business banking
- Ability to operate a PC using Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
- Ability to operate the Credit Union’s financial and commercial lending software to access member accounts and manage loan deals
- Ability to identify and analyze commercial customer business documents and navigate lending decisions
- Ability to independently network and establish relationships with business customers
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively verbally and in writing and present complex financial information
